My 1st year experience at Inholland University (Netherlands)

In the first term we had to do presentation about ourselves like our background and hobbies and our previous studies in order to get more familiar with everyone in the class. Since this study is a 4years we might as well get accustomed of one another. I was a little shy but at a certain point I got over it because I realize this studies is International Communication & Media I will sooner or later have to approach the public and speak so I might as well get accustomed of being more social and open with people. I found that everyone was friendly, kind, and polite. In order for us to work in groups we need to able to get along with each other’s after all communication is 1 of the essential keys in order to get the task completed being involved in a group. Everyone should be able to count in each other as a team.

In the second term the projects and assignments increased more from dealing with certain circumstances for example my mother’s health and gotten kicked out of a group due to misunderstandings through communicating with members within the group but I did learned no matter what the situation maybe try to remain strong pray to God and stay focus on my studies because education does not comes around in life anytime so once you have it make good use of it and keep your mind and eye on your goal. My mom’s situation really affected me since I’m the only child and I’m not being close to her because my mom lives in St.Maarten. But at the same time I tried to stay calm and relax focusing on the price. Once you have a goal keep fighting and striving to the top and do not settle for less. Believe in yourself and motivate yourself at the same time because nobody is going to do that for you. I can only push myself to the top with my effort and determines.

In the third term I was prepared what I can expect so I try to focus on my goal and try to motivate others in the group because I believe in helping someone if I can and if they are willing. The new group that I was placed the communication were much better and everyone respect 1 another thoughts and opinions at the same time sticking to deadlines in order to get the tasks or assignments completed to focus on another task. Everybody was cooperating and putting all their effort into their work. They were no misunderstanding or conflict within the group members. But at the same I failed a couple exams and 2 projects due to my mom’s situation so I had to work extra hard.

In the Fourth term I had to get all my projects and assignments completed to reach the deadline in order to be handed in. It was a little hectic for me because I had to prepare for my retakes that I did not pass making extra pressure on my shoulders but with the motivation that I have received I happened to accomplish my task and goals. It was a little challenging receiving new courses because the teaching skills from some teachers was not clear when it came to bringing message cross which cause her confusion and delays to our work progress. Eventually as soon we understood the message and got accustomed it to the material of the class. We were ready to start and complete our work.

During my experienced at Inholland University I have learned so much like as soon receiving assignments I should aim on getting everything completed because it helps lessen pressure of completing it and maybe the teacher can provide us with feedback earlier which gives me more time to prepare for my exams or new assignments. This can be a milestone off your shoulders.
Being involved in a group there should always be motivation involved or trying to have a connection or bond with the members in your group because it helps everyone to be motivated in order to get the task completed reaching the deadline on time.
